Period Problems

Every woman has a different menstrual cycle, and they can differ largely person to person. However, recurrent issues can disturb a woman’s lifestyle greatly. This could include prolonged or irregular periods, bleeding between periods or after sexual intercourse. These issues should be checked by a doctor or gynaecologist specialist as they may require further investigation. It is important to check as it may be an indication of a more serious problem. For example, menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding) may be caused by hormone imbalance, uterine polyps/fibroids and in the most serious case uterine or cervical cancer. Therefore, it is important to get checked by a doctor if you believe you are suffering from period problems so relevant tests can be carried out in order to help find the cause and ultimately try to find the best resolution.
